Human Movement: Structure and Function

Part of the 2008 Teacher Training course
Duration: 6 weekends, approx 1 weekend per month
Cost : £220 per weekend, payable at the beginning of the module or by monthly standing order

This course offers a challenging look at the human body, how it is made and how it works.
The first part of the course focuses on principles of functioning and organisation, and on the relationship of language to ideas. Topics include terminology, joint motion, embryology, the skeleton, the nervous system, muscles and metabolism, and basic body mechanics.

The second half of the course is a more strictly anatomical look at the structures of locomotion in the seven functional regions of the human body. No prior anatomical or scientific knowledge is required.
