Use of hands in Teaching I
Part of the 2008 Teacher
Training course
Duration: 8 weekends, approx 1-2 weekends per
month
Cost : £220 per weekend, payable at the beginning of the
module or by monthly standing order
This module is the beginning of the teacher training programme proper. It begins with the Applied Survey, a practical extension of the regional survey in the Anatomy module. In this section of the course, students learn how to perform passive movements in six of the seven functional regions thereby learning to identify distortions and interferences. In this way students gradually acquire an increasing sense of normal movement.
Then the principles and mechanics of manipulation as well as the first techniques for the use of hands in teaching are introduced, discussed and practised.
